Did Trump really call for the termination of the provisions of the Constitution?

In the social media platform Truth Social, Donald J. Trump, posted that fraud “allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution” The December 3, 2022 post has evoked criticism from both democrats and a few republicans.  On December 5, 2022, Donald J. Trump posted, claiming that the “Fake News is actually trying to convince the American People that I said I wanted to “terminate” the Constitution.”

Forget the “Fake News,” forget CNN, Fox, and all the organized press, examine his post yourself. To do so, you will have to create an account on Truth Social.  https://truthsocial.com/   Provided the posts remain, you will see straight from the horse’s mouth exactly what he posted and then you have to ask, is there a difference between a call to ‘“terminate” the Constitution” which Trump says he didn’t do and “termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution” which is exactly what he did advocate.

Is there a difference between a call to ‘“terminate” the Constitution” which Trump says he didn’t do and “termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution” which is exactly what he did advocate?

NO, it is a difference without a distinction!

Social Media Scandals

In the wake of proof being released by Elon Musk of what everybody already knew, that Twitter and other social media giants tweaked, filtered, covered up, and guided information in ways that impacted the election, sure Trump may have felt vindicated and simply blurted out a “tweet” that was stupid and overreacted — but rather than backdown, he has not retracted or apologized for his attack on the United States Constitution.

“The United States Constitution has provided the supreme and steady rule of law in a single document to guarantee individual liberties and the framework of law to make certain that men and women would be governed by law, not the arbitrary fiat of the man or men in power, the tyranny of kings or politicians.”  Attorney Tom Roberts

Our Nation’s founders were painfully aware of the dangers of executive and legislative intrusions on judicial decision-making, aware that when political actors are left free not only to adopt and enforce written laws, but also to control the interpretation of those laws, the legal rights of “litigants with unpopular or minority causes or …who belong to disposed or suspect classes ”count for little, left at the mercy of political actors and the shifting winds of popular opinion without any chance for a fair hearing before a neutral judge – at which time the rule of law begins to bleed into the rule of men.  The United States Constitution has provided the supreme and steady rule of law in a single document to guarantee individual liberties and the framework of law to make certain that men and women would be governed by law, not the arbitrary fiat of the man or men in power, the tyranny of kings or politicians.

Former President Trump is a clear and present danger to the rule of law that has made our nation great and separated us from so many other nations.

The call to terminate “all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution” by a former President of the United States is a clear and present danger to the rule of law that has made our Nation great and separated us from so many other nations.  Imperfectly applied on many occasions, yet the Constitution remains a compass and guiding light in the storm.

It is time for conservatives to hold to the ideals and not the cult of a man.  The Constitution’s guarantee of rights and freedoms is a restraint upon the government needed now more than ever.  The 1st Amendment guarantees the right of Donald J. Trump to speak and prevents the liberals from shutting down all speech with which they disagree.  But with freedom comes responsibility, and it is time for conservatives to speak up.  A person that would choose a man over the Constitution is not a conservative.  A person that supports law enforcement over the 4th Amendment is not a conservative.
