Non-residents are not entitled to obtain documents from Public Bodies in Virginia.
However, you may engage our FOIA experts who are residents of Virginia and able to obtain those documents under Virginia FOIA.
The law firm charges a base fee of $200.00 to request FOIA documents in addition to any fees and costs imposed by the public entity responding to the FOIA request.
Additional fees apply for the following:
- If you wish our FOIA expert to redraft your list of requested documents.
- If you wish to obtain other legal services, including FOIA litigation for non-compliance.
Otherwise, after contacting the FOIA expert, you should forward (a) the list of documents sought in a “cut and paste format,” (b) the contact information of the public body, and (c) the payment.
